The Scripture:

The Bible is the inspired Word of God, it consists of both the Old and New Testaments, it is inerrant and infallible in the original writings, and it is the final authority for faith and life.

I Timothy 3:16–17, Matthew 4:4, I Corinthians 2:13, Matthew 5:18.

The Godhead:

There is one God, eternally existing in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit; distinguishable but indivisible.

Matthew 28:19, John 1:18, Deuteronomy 6:4.

The Father:

God is all powerful, all knowing, ever present; the Creator of all things. He is unchanging, holy, supreme, sovereign, and righteous. He is loving. He is our Father. He is gracious, merciful, and compassionate. He is faithful to His promises to His people.

Romans 8:28, Isaiah 6:3, Exodus 3:14–15, John 3:16, I John 1:9, Isaiah 30:18.

Jesus Christ:

Jesus Christ is the eternal second person of the Godhead. Having been conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin He became man without ceasing to be God. He lived a sinless life and died as a substitutionary sacrifice on the cross in order that all men might be saved. He defeated death in his bodily resurrection from the dead, having ascended and promised to return, He is seated at the right hand of the Father representing us as the leader of His church.

John 1:1, John 17:5, Colossians 1:15–20, John 1:18, II Corinthians 5:21, Hebrews 13:8, II Corinthians 8:9.

The Holy Spirit:

The Holy Spirit is the eternal third person of the Godhead. He convicts people of their sin and the coming judgment. He indwells all believers, assures us of salvation, and baptizes us into the body of Christ. He comforts us, guides us into truth, makes us more like Jesus, and gives us spiritual gifts.

John 16:7–15, I Corinthians 12:1–13, Acts 1:8, Ephesians 1:13–14.

Salvation:

Salvation is a free gift from God, made possible by the work of Jesus, illuminated by the Holy Spirit; it comes only by repentance from sin and faith in the sinless life, sin-bearing death, and bodily resurrection of Jesus. Salvation cannot be achieved by works, it can only be received by grace through faith.

John 3:16, Acts 2:38, Ephesians 2:8–9, Romans 10:9, I Peter 1:18–19, John 1:12; 14:6.

The Church:

The church is a local community of believers unified through faith in Jesus Christ. It is committed to the teachings of Christ and obeying all of His commands. Committed to bringing the Gospel to the world, the church works together in love and unity. In sharing communion and celebrating baptism, the church is intent on the ultimate purpose of glorifying Jesus Christ.

Acts 2:41–47, Matthew 16:18–19, I Corinthians 12:14–31, Matthew 28:19–20.

Man:

Man is made in the image of God. God’s original intent was relationship with man, but man rebelled through sin and became separated from God and subject to His wrath. Man cannot redeem himself by his own effort. From conception every human being has a unique spirit, personality, and is deserving of dignity and respect.

Genesis 1:26–27, Psalm 139:13–14, Ephesians 2:8–10; 12–13, Romans 3:23, 5:12, 6:23, 8:7–8, Psalms 8:3–6.

Eternity:

Man was created to live forever. Man will either live with God, being redeemed by the blood of Jesus, in Heaven forever, or exist separated from God by sin in hell forever. Heaven and Hell are real places of eternal existence.

Matthew 25:29–46, Revelation 21:8, John 3:16; 14:2–4; 15, I Corinthians 15:56–57, I John 5:11–13, II Thessalonians 1:5–12.
